Hi There,
If you are working (which is the best position to be in if you own your house!), then you must take a look into Working & Child Tax Credit. It helps with general everyday costs and childcare costs if you have a salary of £30,000 or less per annum. You also get the NHS Exempt card which means you do not have to pay for prescriptions, some dental and eye care. If you go onto Income Support and then when the kids have grown up enough go out to work then you are expected to pay back the money they have paid towards your mortgage. With the Working/Child Tax Credit there are not the penalties of paying back as with Income Support.
I hope this helps...
Good Luck

I havent been able to get help with the payments, but tax credits do help. It seems unfair if you are in rented they will help you with your rent. I have nearly lost my home a couple of times but Im still hanging in there.
