communism has to do with government having a one party rule but socialism doesn't have to do with government just the economic solution that everyone can get benefits and it can be compatible with any kind of government rule not just a one party system.

Socialism is the stage between capitalism and communism.
It is commonly known as "The dictatorship of the proletariat" i.e.: working class rule.
Socialism is seen in corrupt form in the USSR, Cuba, and N. Korea.
Communism is the theoretical stage after socialism and is the same as anarchy.
Communism has never existed in practice but it can be described as a "Classless, Stateless, Borderless" society.

Socialism is hog-pause of Capitalism and Communism where there's more control of capital by state. In pure Communism, which does not exist the state control all capital. Consider this- There is another system few talk about called Debt-ism where banks control the all capital.

Capitalism divides the working class, based on sexual, racial and national distinctions. The specially oppressed groups within the working class suffer the most under capitalism.
In addition, Capitalism is an international system, so the struggle for socialism must be international, uniting workers of all countries. Socialists oppose imperialism--the division of the globe based on the subjugation of weaker nations by stronger ones--and support the self-determination of oppressed nations.
War, poverty, exploitation and oppression are products of the capitalist system, a system in which a minority ruling class profits from the labor of the majority. The alternative is socialism, a society based on workers collectively owning and controlling the wealth their labor creates.
Capitalism is a virus, Socialism is the cure.

Communism wants all property to be owned/shared by the community.
Socialism only cares about production resources (farms, power plants, manufacturing facilities, etc) and doesn't care about personal ownership of other property.

Communism = complete state ownership of property.
Socialism = high taxes to finance "cradle to grave" care of all people (education, health care, etc.) but private property is OK.
