For a Super Spring Cleaning of your gold and silver jewelry, mix 1cup of clean warm water with ½ cup of ammonia. Soak your jewelry in this solution for about 15 minutes; gently scrub with a soft, clean toothbrush, then rinse in warm water. Air dry on an absorbent paper towel. When thoroughly dry, you may lightly buff with a soft flannel cloth.

this may sound strange but put together baking soda and club soda and soak for about 5 minutes if the jewerly needs further more cleaning than soak even longer or buy a silver cleaner.

heres a place to get a cheap jewerly cleaner that works on all stones and all metals

Toothpaste, I tried the gel, it still works but not as well as the paste and I can assure you it will smell better than vinegar.
