YES! Use toothpast, i know this sounds completely out there...but buy toothpaste that is white and use that. Put some in your hand and just rub it over your jewelry, i promise it is completely safe and will not ruin your jewelry.

For a Super Spring Cleaning of your gold and silver jewelry, mix 1cup of clean warm water with ½ cup of ammonia. Soak your jewelry in this solution for about 15 minutes; gently scrub with a soft, clean toothbrush, then rinse in warm water. Air dry on an absorbent paper towel. When thoroughly dry, you may lightly buff with a soft flannel cloth.

Believe it or not - toothpaste will polish silver in a pinch.
Just spread a little on, let it sit for a few seconds and wipe it and the tarnish away.
It works remarkably well.

tooth paste works good, soap and water rub good with cloth.
