Well I have limewire too. What I think can mess up your i pod is when you download a song that has a virus (remember that some songs have a virus in them) and that is how I think it can mess up an i pod. My brother has an i pod and has limewire but what he does is download the songs from limewire and when they are done downlading he just drags them to itunes and then from itunes he downloads them into his i pod. By the way I think your computer doesnt recognize that your ipod is hooked up because there is something wrong with your computer. What I would do if i where you is take the computer to a person that is a proffesional about computers and ask them if they can see why it doesnt recognize that the ipod is hooked up.

good luck! hope this helps!

Everyone that said yes doesn't know what they're talking about. Limewire can't screw up your comp, but PROGRAMS you donwload from it can. If you were only downloading music with limewire your problem has nothing to do with limewire. Also, if your going to download music, movies, etc. why do you have an ipod? iPods have Digital rights management software out the ***. Next time try getting something made by Creative or Archos. They might not be as user friendly but they play all the illegal files. Also, they're not proprietary so you can easily fix internal problems by exploring the device in windows explorer.

Yes it most certainly can. Limewire is know for carrying all kinds of viruses. And, in some cases, will not let you take it off of your computer without completely reformatting everything. I am a little of a geek myself and have tried to fix many computers that were screwed up because of limewire. Even though it is the best site for downloading music, it is not the best thing to be putting onto your computer.

Limewire has nothing to do with your iPod. Limewire just downloads. If your computer is not recognizing your iPod, try checking to make sure that your not having usb issues in the device manager.

Limewire does not carry viruses. Its the files that you download with Limewre, not Limewire itself. So ignore that girl.
