Anybody know how to clean and disinfect a granite-top kitchen counter?

If you are using an ordinary household cleaner on your beautiful granite, marble, or other natural stone surfaces, stop as it will cause damage.

Most everyday household cleaners, however, contain ammonia or other harmful chemicals that break down the sealer, making the stone more susceptible to staining and reducing its luster and durability. Common toiletries, like perfume and toothpaste, also contain ingredients that damage stone or degrade the sealer.

To keep your natural stone looking brilliant, it’s best to use products that are specifically formulated to prevent deterioration and enhance the beauty of natural stone surfaces.
I use a product called granite gold cleaner.There are many brands check your home depot..lowes or hard wre store.

The big stores like Home Depot and Lowes have people that will answer this for you and sell you what you need back in the kitchen area...I have a granite island and have never had to "disinfect" it. Simple soap and water work for me...are you cutting raw meat there or do you just not know what someone else has done?

I would suggest using Mr Mean Green degreaser to disinfect your counter first and let dry, then use Org-Glo polish to bring back shine or u can use turtle wax, you apply wax and then with a soft clean cloth rub to a high gloss shine; this will make clean-ups a breeze, food and grease will not stick on counter top.

white vinagar and water.Put a little warm water in your kitchen sink and throw in a splash of white vinagar in it. wipe the counter tops with that and go behind with a dry rag and polish it up..works great.

i use bleach. those pens work good, too.
