But if it was caught on survillance then how do we see the video quality so clearly in the news/documentaries?

The network news cameras were on with the towers in the background....as well as various cameras from other angles...

The first plane happened to be caught in someones camera who was doing a documentary and that film was not shown for about a week. Bush said afterwards that he saw the plane hit but it was impossible since the only film of it did not appear for weeks. But the second plane was caught because every camera was already there filming the aftermath of the first plane hitting and so there were plenty of angles and what not for the second plane.
Also the pentagon attack was captured by many surveillance cameras but they were taken by the FBI and only the parking lot was shown because no 767 hit the pentagon. Think about it.. It is the pentagon the largest office building in the world and the most secure but there was only one camera there. If a 767 really hit the pentagon there would be much more debree and they would have shown us some actual tapes of it.

Though few people taped the first impact into the WTC, many people, including news crews, videotaped the second impact with great clarity.
The impact on the Pentagon was only taped by a parking area security camera that was set to shoot one frame per second, so it only shows a blur as the jet hit the building at ground level at full speed.

Most of the videos were amateur videos. New York City in September is a big holiday spot, and especially the WTC.
Also the Brooklyn Bridge is another large attraction as is the Statue of Liberty. Cam corders are the norm in that city.

There were several random documentries going on that day, which is how most of the footage got caught on tape. Also, several news studios looked out on the World Trade Centers, and so while they were filming they were able to catch the footage.

A Frenchman happened to be filming the towers when the planes hit. I believe a tourist.

it is nyc after all, tourist, film makers , several film makes were at a fire house when the call came in and they actually went into the lobby of the towers. Mmost of the fire fire fighters they had met and filmed had died that day

First tower wasn't second was due to fact news cameras were looking at first when second attack came.
