sure, as long as one of these conditions exist.
1.Both are under 13 years old.
2.Both are gay.
3.They're both in relationships with two other people at the same time*not all people are capable of this one.*
4. You define friends as coworkers who don't see each other out of work/school.

The problem with a platonic relationships is that, your friends exist for emotional support. and companionship.. If someone is there for you, nice to you, understands you, given the time,(it doesn't take too long), you'll find them attractive. You're going to have a hard time not developing feelings for them.

This goes for men and women.

Just for fun, how about more generalizations.
I think on the whole, women are definately the ones who believe that platonic friendship is possible.
Much more often than not, men don't feel this way.
It's not that men only want sex. (some men do, and frankly they make the rest of us look bad) The thing is that men want everything - a relationship is (ideally) is all of the emotional support and companionship of a friendship AND sex.

Of course. It's just incredibly hard for it to go the distance, and you'll see why when all your answers come in. Chemicals, mostly, those durned hormones get in the way & goof up our thinking ability and control of how we want to act.
