It's looking that way. I still say they should've traded up with the Texans for their #1 pick and draft Reggie Bush for insurance just for this reason we are speaking on! The Jets had players and future draft picks they could've delt!

Curtis Martin's NFL playing career is probably over. I would like to see the Jets keep him on in some type of coaching fashion. A man who is in the same sentences as Walter Payton and Barry Sanders (let alone Emmit Smith) should have a career somewhere as a coach. I would just like it to be with the Jets. Well, wherever he goes, he will always be adored by NFL fans everywhere, not just Jets fans. (Or maybe that's just one Jets fan's opinion!)

Nope... it looks grim now for him... but he still has the desire to want to play. He is not that old -- I know as far as NFL running backs he is, but he still has some left in the tank. His starting every game getting 20 carries days is long over... but he could still come in off the bench; if not the Jets... then another team. Hey, the Cardinals gave Emmitt a chance to start, because they showed him respect that he earned... if Curtis still wants to play there would be an NFL team that would let him play for them.

Now does he want to go through all of the perseverance and patience it would take for him to get back to playing? ... That’s the question?

I hoe he stays on as an announcer for the Jets or better yet as a coach. The man is class all the way and the sort of guy you'd like to have in your organization. But if he can still play....

I'm afraid so. Next year you will see him in the commentary booth. In five years you will see him in the hall of fame.
