She is running for re-election now and I think if she loses she might run for President in 2008. She is the number 5 best Governor in the US, so says Liberal Time Mag.

Kathleen Sebelius is a savvy politician who knows how to work toward success against great odds. She was elected governor running as a democrat in a state dominated by the Republican Party and before that, served two terms as Insurance Commissioner. She is, at present, considered ahead of her challenger in her run for reelection as governor of Kansas.

Running for president would mean facing even greater odds. Sebelius is not a nationally known political leader. She comes from a small state rather than a large one which might guarantee her more clout and electoral votes in a presidential election.

One thing she does have going for her is that she's not a traditional "Liberal, Labor" Democrat. She's moderate (and in some areas even conservative) enough in some areas to appeal to middle class voters.

I have no idea if Sebelius would consider running for president, but if she did, she'd make it an interesting race.
