How can I repair mess caused by "blue tac"?

just moved in a flat with newly painted wall. put posters up. then when i removed poster there's grease stains and the paint is being ripped off.

is it cause i used the cheap dollar store version of blue tac?

what can i do to repair it? can i just re-paint over the area?

You will have to use a primer paint before you paint or it will be a big mess.

Oh no! I use that stuff too. Maybe spray wash the stains with a degreaser.
