Does anyone else believe that working out during the cross country and track seasons will wear you down even more?? I think it does..

i really don't care about college football. thats a toootally different thing than running

an intelligent work out plan will help you run faster. Make sure that the weight lifting you do doesn't work against your running. Just as you shouldn't do a speed workout two days in row and you shouldn't lift the same muscle group two days in a row, you need to make sure you aren't lifting/running the same muscles hard. Give your body time to recover.

But a good lifting plan should help your running.

If by working out, you mean lifting weights or something similar, then no. Weight training is a part of most well run cross country and track programs.

Fact: Working out makes you tired. If you don't stress your body, it won't get stronger. That's the way exercize works.
