Capitalism supports the concept of inequality. In fact, inequality in financial and economic matters is one of its core concepts.

Inequality drives market forces, whether a better product, or a higher profit margin, or more control over the marketplace. That's the inherent nature of the capitalist system.

What many people are getting upset about is what happens when capitalism works. In its pure form, it can become as totalitarian as fascist communism. The difference is that communism requires outside totalitarian influences to achieve that result, while capitalism can do it all on its own.

The bottom line is that as long as there are people who are greedy and want to control other people, they will succeed. And nothing short of a revolution in consciousness and tolerance for others will change that.

We have yet to see an example in history when a society has not artificially or naturally stratified. Capitalism may be a bit Darwinian to some; however, it is 'fair' compared to any system of forced economic equality. If society does revolt against Capitalism, how would it avoid the eventual social stratification (which in turn would beg for Capitalism)?

The age of "revolutions" is past. What we will see now is both political integration and fragmentation. Revolutions are likely to be confined to desperate places like Africa. And WMD issues, in addition to terrorist concerns, will greatly impact the agendas and pace of globalization in the next decades.

Who's oppressed? In American you can be what you want to be & screw the rest of the world. My reality is at home where I bust my *** for my own medical insurance, nice home, cars and cool stuff. I could be on the streets or live in a shanty somewhere but that would also be a conciuos choice. I choose to be fruitful & anyone who complains does not have the spine or work ethic to achieve their goals.

The revolution has been and gone, capitalism (in its pure form) is dead. What we have now is commercialism, it is a far more tenacious beast, not only does it rely on the false need for money, but also includes peer pressure via fashion and consumables.

Unfortunatley, US keep pushing other countries because of it's own greedy needs. Not only will US go down it will drag other countires and natural resources with it.

US wants to consume things for wants not needs and it #$#$$@ wastes SO MUCH !! US uses 30% more resources than any other country. and now because of capitalism (MONEY) US is outsourcing hurting it's own citizens. Trust me, it will bite them in the ***.

If you look at history you will see every revolution just lead to the same oppression under a different name. USSR? Yep, sure fixed disparity (not).

It's like the game Monopoly. Eventually one player will have all the money and property. Then you have to start over.
