so my moms family HATES me... Im not rude to them or disrespectful tword them unless they act that way to me. but they dont liek that i dye my hair or have piercing. and my aunt hasnt talked to me since may b/c she said that the relationship i was in wasnt a real relationship b/c im to young (im 18) and i was with the guy 3 years and i told her that it her opinon wasnt going to change anything..and my g-pa talks about me behind me my back to my brother... they all tell me i need another job and need to make more moeny..when i alredy have a fine job...none of them act like i have real feelings. what do i do?..im not aplogizing b/c i didnt do anything wrong!

im am sooooooooooooooooooo close to my dads family..i love so them much..so they make up for it!..my cousion on my dads side is like my best friend!..but i still dont know what to do about my moms family.

Goodness I feel for you. My wife's family thinks I'm a complete moron because I don't make six figures yet. To them money controls everything and everyone. The only thing important to them is how much "stuff" you have and how new it is. I know you understand the hair dye and piercing stuff. It's so limiting on the kind of work people will let you do. I'd just stop doing that anyway but still, one good thing is, you know the kind of people your dealing with so just remember ONE thing...YOU HAVE A CHOICE about who you communicate with from here on out. If they insist on making you feel bad, choose not to talk with them anymore. Another good thing to remember just for your personal life is that...anything your doing that you call a "job"...work towards doing something else...find a passion that you can call a career..even if it pays less..you'll be sooo much happier too. Your Aunt's comments to you about your friend...what you told her isn't true..her opinion DID change something...it changed your attitude towards your Aunt, and her attitude towards you.

Ouch, your moms family sounds like they wont accept someone who is different from them. Which means if they cant accept you--you cant accept them. Tell them they are being really immature for not respecting your values and opinions. Tell them you have feelings too--and if they are going to pretend they are not real and keep judging you---ignore them in every way. Be polite if they start talking about the weather--but once they get on about how they dont like your image--get up and walk out of the room. Good luck--and keep that boyfriend because older ones are always better!! :)

Tolerate them. You have to until you are of an age that you can choose with whom you spend your time. Even when they disrespect you, ignore them. Just go on about your business or say nothing at all. That is when a great book comes in handy!!!! I wish you the best of luck. Youre in a tough sitch.

my father's side of the family hates my mom just become my dad came from a wealthy family and they think my mom is trying to go after his money still every talks about that my dad isn't my dad and i wish i can do something!!!! to them!!! well life!

Give your moms family a chance ..they don't understand with the piercings and all..It takes some people longer to get used to this ...Just be yourself and be nice to everyone...Kill them with kindness

well i would stay more close to your dad's side....im going threw sordda the same thing but with MY dad's side i know what your going threw except i think that your family should not care if you look different everyone is different...what i am doing is just not paying attention to my dad's side but loving the people who love me back...i hoped i helped

who do you live with...if you don't live with these people, let them vioce their oppinion, evenif you don;t like what they have to say, every ones intitled right, also when discussing touchy topics with oppinionated people ALWAYS let them know that it was an interesting way of looking at things and that you never saw it from that way, it gets you of the hook of and argument cause you can then walk away, and makes them feel that they have reached you lol

if they are not going to be nice then you should not either at least you got your dads side of the family so focus on that
