a skip.
If you watch 'Charmed' the sisters are always lurking in alleys near them.

Dumpster is part of a trade name for the the company "Dempster".The Dempster company manufactures Dempster garbage (trash) trucks and large garbage bins (Dempster Dumpsters). There was a Dempster factory in the town I live in now (Toccoa GA), but it, like many other business, phased out this location in Toccoa several years ago. I used to call these bins "Dipsy Dumpsters", only to find out when I moved to Toccoa, that they were actually Dempster Dumpsters.

So far, although everyone has been correct, they've missed the obvious. A Dumpster is a large bin into which you "dump" trash.

A "dumpster" is a large, usually oblong, metal container found behind stores and in apartment complexes and other places where trash is dumped. They usually have lids. A garbage truck comes by at intervals and empties them.

A dumpster is basically a large wheelie bin or skip on wheels. If you watch American cops and robbers programmes the murder victim or murder weapon is always found in one lol.
