can anyone help, i am trying to uninstall my msn 7.5 from my computer but its not letting me when i try to remove it from add/remove programs, it also wont let me install the new msn live, giving me error code '1603' any ideas??

You should just be install messenger live over the top of it.

You don't have a virus. It is just a software glitch. To fix this problem do the following:
1.) Make sure your system has all necessary updates from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
2.) Click on Start -> Find -> Files or Folders
3.) Search for sfc.dll. It should be under c:\windows\system32\.
4.) Rename sfc.dll to sfc.dll.x
[x could be any character(s)]
5.) You should be able to do the installs now.
6.) After you have installed the software, change sfc.dll.x back to
sfc.dll.
7.) Done!
I hope that helps, if not there is something else you can do.
1.) Find C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS
2.) Rename the folder "InstallTemp" to "InstallTemp2".
3.) Then Rename the file "x86_Microsoft.Windows.Networking.Dxmrtp_6595b6414 4ccf1df_5.2.0.4868_x-ww_212f7d9e" to "x86_Microsoft.Windows.Networking.Dxmrtp_6595b6414 4ccf1df_5.2.0.4868_x-ww_212f7d9e2." [This step is not coming out right, please see the link below for clarity]
4.) Or simply take the folder and the file and add a 2, that way it will replace with a new one.
5.) Install away!

I had this problem and it wouldnt let me download any of the msn messengers, then my computer was slow and annoying, think i had a virus, not saying you have but thats what happened with me, Take a look on the msn website for trouble downloading.

You do not need to remove MSN 7.5, just go onto the msn website and download Windows Live, it should work. Once you have downloaded Windows Live, 7.5 will become unusable and then you can remove it I think.

i exploit msn and performance been doing so for truly many years. very last nighttime notwithstanding-out of curiousity- I downloaded yahoo messenger, i love it! a lot more effective thrilling than msn- for now besides, i will probable get bored of it too =P

you cant uninstall a running program, right click the messenger by your clock and turn it off! first

You should just update it to the live messanges thats wat i done and its so much easier go to their website and just update the version you hav
