one day i went on a school picnic with my friends, and one of my friends wiped the top of a soda can with a napkin. we started asking why she does that and she replied by saying that the top is covered in rat piss..... is it true?

it could happen...cases of soda are stored in warehouses, and we all know how those little critters love warehouses!!! but a napkin swipe really does not take care of the problem, those little ratty pee-pee germs are lingering about. best to wash your canned food or beverage containers before you open them to avoid contaminants....think about it!

It can be. if the can was kept in a warehouse with rats running around. Always wipe just to be sure.
