I've seen this question posted so many times that I'm beginning to think it's the oldest question in the World.
Religion is probably as old as Man himself. The worship of the Sun, rocks, ancestors and all living things pre-dates all the religions based on written texts that exist today and some of these religions are still practised in various jungle tribes that have mercifully escaped being converted to one of the major religions of the modern World.
And to save arguments about some of the major religions... Judaism certainly came before Christianity which in turn came before Islam

Judaism has the oldest calendar this is year 5766. it is a couple of centuries older than the Chinese calaendar.
I would call Judaism the oldest historical religion as the Wiccans and pagans don't historically record the earliest times.
Islam has only been an established religion for less than 1600 years beign founded by Muhammed in A.D. 610

No one really knows, but it probably existed several hundred thousand years ago; evidence of religion dating back to then has been found.
