We've noticed in looking for a home in Pennsylvania that 90% of the homes have no garage or carports. Does anyone know why?

It probably depends on how old the homes are. Homes built before the 40's or 50's don't have garages because either people didn't have cars, or they didn't think of putting it in a garage. This is true in many places, like here in CA.

Most of the homes were built 30-60 years ago, and garages were not as popular then. I live in an older part of PA, and there are very few houses with garages. Hense why i built a new house :-)
