I was asking about being tolerant of other people political opinions with a small p.

Difficult to say without a reference to the question itself. Most likely it was posted in Politics & Government and was used as soapbox in a sort of intrinsic urge to spill ones political opinion despite the question asked.

Because many people are so incapable of tolerance of others, that they attack anyone who even asks about intolerance.

It's a symptom of a virulent contagious mental defect that is sweeping the country, and has outbreaks in other parts of the world.

Because you can choose to answer all English questions or just the questions asked in your country, and yours must have struck a chord with those Americans.

Sorry. In USA we don't have to be tolerant. In fact Political Correctness is a violation of MY freedom of speech.
I can speak my mind you can speak yours and tuff titty if I or you don't like what each other said.
Can't stand the heat Move to someplace like Iran where you will be told your opinions. Everyone has one (opinion) just like @sswholes. In the USA all points of view are welcome and response to whatever point of view are welcome.
