how do you find the LQ&UQ of a group of numbers? how do construct a box and wisker plot of those #'s?

In order to find the box and whisker plot you need 5 numbers:
minimum
lower quartile
median
upper quartile
maximum

If I remember correctly, the LQ is the median of the first half of the data and the UQ is the median of the second half of your data set. So put all your data points in order, find the median which will split your data set, find the median of the upper and lower halves of the data. That will give you all the points you need to make your box ans whisker plot.
