Lots of useful suggestions here already. I'd echo the sentiments of the people who have recommended VERY thorough preparation...believe me, it's your best friend and ally in the sometimes nerve-wracking audition environment.
Know this: when you rehearse a piece thoroughly, you develop a "muscle memory" of it. Your body remembers what it feels like and sounds like. And, even when you feel nervous during the actual audition, you can trust that you're still delivering the performance you prepared. Remember, what's going on inside of you may seem extreme, but is often virtually undetectable to the folks observing you.
You can also take comfort in the fact that, as you become a seasoned auditioner, you'll become more and more at ease with the process.

I would suggest a couple of things, if I may. First, know your material very, very well. Go over it daily. Repeat and repeat and repeat. Get the help of a coach if you like, but know your material. Secondly, remember that you want to do this work because it gives you pleasure. An audiition is an opporunity to do what you like to do. Have a good time.
Don't worry about the results, they aren't up to you, but if the auditors get the notion that you know your business and love what you do, the chances are much better.

Hi, I am a former musician. How are you. I just wanted to say you don't need to be nervous about how other people will see you. I don't know if my english is well. What if other people will look down on you. The only thing that matters is for us to be ok and frank with ourselves. All the rest is just a product of our vanity. What if you impress the others, or what if they look down you. So what... All these are fake, there is nothing true about them and don't give us anything at all.

For me it is a matter of practice. First time I got on stage I forgot part of the song, went blank and I was terribly ashame that I ran away from the stage... with practice, times getting on there etc etc I've got to feel on stage even better than I feel off it.

Just don't stress to much about it because in the end you're far better off not thinking and worrying about it so much. It might affect your performance. So like the other person said, take your mind off of it. hang out with some friends, enjoy yourself! good luck!

put a nickle in your pocket and before you go in, rub it between your hands and make it super warm.
Put it back in your pocket and when you start to feel nervous, concentrate on the heat.
