If you have a mac, just plug the receiver into a USB port, make sure the batteries are fresh in the wireless mouse, and start mousing.
If you have a Windows machine, try the above first, but don't be worried if it doesn't work. Windows may require you to install a driver for the new mouse. In that case, find the CD with the driver on it (or download the driver from the mouse manufacturer's website), install the driver while you still have your old wired mouse attached, restart the machine, and then switch to the new mouse.

1. Connect the wireless mouse to your laptop, as per instructions provided
2. If you use Windows XP , most likely you do need a driver to be installed.
3. Once the OS recognizes the device, you are all set.
