Wood Floor Cleaner

½ cup vinegar

1 gallon water

The most important thing to keep in mind while cleaning wood floors is that they can not get overly wet. When you use the above mixture, dip your sponge mop into the solution and squeeze until almost dry. Then mop. Never put the cleaner directly on the floor. Dry any streaked or wet area with a clean towel as you go along the floor.

Depending on the type of floor - -you may choose to buff it with an orange oil. But vinegar and water is an excellent cleaner and won't stain your carpets!

there is a product called soapy wood cleaner ...manufactured by pledge...it leaves the floor spotless, no sticky residue, no marking and you don't even have to rinse the stuff off the floor..I have 2 different types of timber flooring, solid and laminate..and the cleaner is the best thing I've come across so far...never use furniture polish on a timber floor unless you want to turn your floor into a skating rink...hahaha

the best first thing to do is determine who manufactured your floor and then go to their website and see what is recommended cleaning and maintenence wise. if you have a warranty for example, some products will cause the factory finish to deteriorate or discolor thus voiding the warranty b/c you didn't use what they suggest.
bona kemi makes a hard surface cleaner as well as a refresher that may work but do check it out first before trying it - and at the very least if you go into test mode, do your testing in nondiscreet places such as the closet.

I would recommend 2 tbsp of cornstarch;1/2 c household ammonia,1/2 c white vinegar, and 1 gal of warm water; Mix ingredients in bucket and use to mop, let dry, and then go over with a Pledge wipes; leaves a shine but no stickiness, also dries with in minutes.

Laminate floors will not shine like real hardwood, be careful what you use and in most instances it will nullify your warranty or discolor the floor altogether.
