1. OK now, here is a grand question for all those who say that they willnot sing a song written by a Hindu. If we can sing Saare jahaan se achchha Hindostaan hamaaraa, written by Allamma Iqbal, why can't they sing Vande Matram written by Bankim Chandra?
2. For those who say that the song goes against the spirit of their religion :- Javed Akhtar is a Muslim poet, why has he written so many songs praising beauty as god? Shahrukh, Salman, and several other Muslim actors dance on the songs that extol females as gods. And people of all religions go to see the first day first show of these movies. If all these are allowed, why not a national song??
It is the time to decide what is greater for you. Your religion, or your cuontry. When a person says that his religion is more important than his country, then he is certainly betraying his country. He will be more loyal to his co-religionists then being loyal to his countrymen. Then people will make opinion about such a man, and it will lead to problems.

No,there isnt n infact never should be ,any valid reason for any citizen of India to sing the national song and that includes the " few muslims" in the question . The song " Vande Mataram " is in praise and salutation for our motherland India and has got nothing to do with any region or religion of this great country .So it is an insult to the Nation if one keeps away from singing this song . When all Indians irrespective of their creed or caste , accept and adore the present President of our nation ,then why refrain from and find invalid reasons to keep away from singing the National Song ??? We must regard our Motherland as equal to our mother and no child on Earth has ever kept away from praising his/her mother !

Suddenly, after 100 years, these
Ulemaas have woken up and prefer
not to sing- is rather a strange affair.
It is about this beautiful country.
I am sure that they would, after
few years, say that Jana Gana mana
is also prohobited because it was
written by a Hindu writer.
Let the Congress and BJP not
make hue and cry about it and
not force singing.
Ignoring is the best way to
condemn it.

don that is correct in the interpretation but not in the right spirit. Indian muslims can sing songs calling some dumb belle as 'mohabat ka khuda' but can not understand that this is not worshipping the motherland but praising it and saluting it, atleast that is what Bankim C. would have meant. If you are Indian then perhaps you will understand the meanings of vandana (praise) and naman(worship)

More than singing Vande Mataram, which has become just another ritual, I would prefer people understanding its 'marm' or essence of this beautiful song.
Though it is hard to imagine people who can’t even understand, read or speak Hindi, trying to sing it, it would be waste on them. Even Hindi speaking people merely know the words not its essence.
So rather I would have this song translated into all regional languages including Urdu and simple Hindi, so that all can know its meaning, and when the people understand the essence of the song, they would make it their own, singing it, could be then left to them.

Forget this controversy, let it be matter of choice and do not force any body to sing it. By the way how many people can understand the sanskrit in India let it aside sing it can you??? sing the whole song and what about the other national songs list is endless my freind these are not basic requirement of todays Indians (Roti, Kapda, makan, and education), please can we work on this issue or we will get mere promises from the politicians on this. Forget it lets put ourselves on the way to economic success.

you cant make such a big issue of this...sing the song with praise for India, those who do not sing it will come back to it without issue because the truth lies in the fact that such things can be overlooked easily in a friendship and the love for our country shouldn't be undermined by such nonsense. India itself is a nation that embraces all religions and that embrace will prevail over all else.

Are you living in Timbuktoo? Please read the newspapers. Muslims are urged to read atleast the first two stanzas of Vandemataram which are full worship slogans for goddess Durga. Muslims are monothiests and how do you expect them to pronounce polytheists slogans. Further, we claim India is a secular country and we have seven fundamental rights, which are always forgotten when some arugments emerge. Don't we have freedom of practising our own religion in India????

Well another political stint of our revered politicians going the way they wanted. Its really disheartening to see us divided upon our opinion regarding this new political drama. Of all the people who are in favor of singing this song, let me ask you, how many of you know the true and exact translation of this patriotic song. There is no harm at all in anyone singing it. In fact i believe that a song that promotes patriotism is fine. But how many of us know the true meaning of this song? Have we ever tried to understand what this song means to convey? We havent understood the essence of this song and we are fighting on the subject whether its worthy to be sung or not. Our politicians want us to be busy in such debates and forget abt what we really want for ourselves..and they are succeeding in their acts....for we are making them successful. Why dont we ask people to speak hindi when its our national language? Why are hindi channels banned and shunned in south india? when we dont understand hindi, how can we understand bengali???

hello brother
ur question and doubt is correct but they are few rules and regulations to be followed by every religion. islam taught us that there is only one god and we should always worship and pray to him alone . if someone says that he is muslim and worship any other creature then he does sin according to islam . so my brother thats the reason why muslims are told not read it. as it contains that we worship our land india also and much more if u look after its translation. u can praise any thing that is created by god but with his name . like what a thing this is that god has created then this is not a sin.
