In GTA San Andreas game how do i recruit anyone in to my gang?

what is the key that i can use to recruit my gang member to help me on my mission (mission: riot).

if ur playing pc then u have to target them (right click) and hit g or h
the max number of gangsters following u depends on ur respect lvl
(max 7)

on teh ps2 version you target them and then you press up but in the corner there should be a bar that increases.
