If you want my personal opinion, Palestine is a country that has been there for thousands of years. Israel is a state set up by British mandate and the UN for people of a particular faith and is illegal. But we must recognize Israel just due to the fact that it has now been there for almost 60 years and is well established. We cannot expect the Palestinians to remove them from their land and homes by force, that would be horrid. Oh, but wait, isn't that what the Israelis did to the Palestinians in 1948? OK, my true feelings, one state, and it's called PALESTINE.

I would have to say one state:Palestine...Israel will never live peacefully alongside Palestine...Israel is an artificially created state, who doesn't belong in the Middle East and who will never be able(as it showed once again in Lebanon) to have a diplomatic relationship with an independent Palestinian state...They clearly showed that they don't want a Palestinian state,by rejecting UN's resolution 242,338,1397(witch ask for the creation of an independent Palestinian state)...So I think a two state solution will never be possible

Logical Answer:
Israel is already a state but Palestine should be given statehood also; so to answer your question, two.

The Palestinians have not accepted several offers of statehood because of their border disputes. By accepting statehood, that would mean they accept the current borders. Of which, we know is the main reason behind their conflict with Israel.

I think, as did Arafat btw, they should accept statehood then take up their argument internationally.

Fair Answer:
All Israeli land should be given back to the Palestinians. The League of Nations.. turned UN had no authority to suddenly create it thereby stripping the Palestinians of their property. Once Israel is disbanned then properties in Britain and the USA should be given to them. I would like to see how quickly those two pro-Israel countries reverse that stance when suddenly their citizens are forced to give up their homes so the jews can move in.

It's got to be two states as they could never live in peace and harmony in the one state. With the population at the moment the Palestinian people would be the minority group for many years to come and would not be represented in government as the majority grouping would ensure there were mechanisms built in to the political process to guarantee them success at every election.

Two.

Two warring states, sadly. One by design, the other in response.
