The fuel injectors need to be primed.

prime the fuel injectors- the fuel system works on or by pressure, when U ran out there was no gas to maintain the fuel pressure at the injectors, so pressurize the flue system by turning the key to the on position but DO NOT TRY TO START THE CAR, turn it back off for a few seconds, repeat that twice and U should be able to start the car on about the second or third time.
P.S. know one seems to know that U dont have a carburater or throttlebody on your car, they don't mean to but their sending U on a wild goose chase. U have a 1998 car right?

You might have to prime the fuel intake or your fuel fitler is clogged by crap that was sitting at the bottom of your gas tank...here is what you should do to start your car..get some fuel injection cleaner spary from your local auto store..and remove your air intake and spary some into car throatbody you will need two people for this one to spary and the other to start the car and read your automanual you may have trip a senor when running out of gas..good luck ..

get some jumper cables. then keep starting the engine the thing has an electronic fuel injection . just let the gas come in the injectors., thats mean there is no gas in the sistem only in the gas tank ,jumper cables just in case your batery dies.

Its either the fuel injector, or you have a hole in your gas tank.
