All of that and that the people of Mississippi rolled up their sleeves and rebuilt without waiting on a government handout.

how about first come, last served. Although what happened was tragic and could have been much less depressing had people received the help they needed, we look today at what they have done to make up for their incompetence and people still don't have what they need to survive. From the people for the people. There is no true assistance. The government is stingy with its money and heaven forbid someone who might need help get it. Lead by example. This is sad but i found that most people of the south have had some hard knocks and this isn't gonna get em down. More than likely we will rise up stronger than ever on our own. Guess who wont be gettin the glory for that?

Strongly agree with B. Nagin is a joke. Talk about a racist ie... "New Orleans will be a chocolate city..." If a white person had said that he would have been crucified. Nagin let all those people drown instead of using all of those school busses to evacuate people. He should be run out of town!

Not a thing . If we had another hurricane tomorrow , I'll bet almost the same things would happen again . The politicians are worried about being reelected not fixing the problems . They just want to get the tourist part of the city ready ,but they don't care about the part the tourist don't see .

1. If you have a house to sell in a flood zone, someone is poor enough to buy it.
2. Renters will not wait for you to rebuild. They'll go elsewhere.
3. Insurance companies will take your money and hang you out to dry. They are in it for a profit and if they had to pay out, no profit.
4. Crap floats.
5. Do not count on government assistance. If you don't have money, they won't hear you.

We learned that New Orleans is supposed to be a chocolate city. Apparently, Nagin says that's the way God intended it to be, a majority African American city. I didn't know God was a racist.
