my newborn son was born very light skinned but his ears are darker than his skin. why is this?

I is very natrul i have had three and all of them came out with dark ears it will become it's natrual skin color in about 1 month or so!! NO WORRIES!!

Are you or his father dark? You didn't say.Melanine concentrates edges of the ears and under the finger nail beds. He probably ok just going to grow up to be a dark skinned guy. You can call the hospital and ask a nurse/doctor about it or ask about it during his next check up.

Newborns change color all the time i guess there skin pigmentation is changing congrats and good luck

I've seen people who have 'darker ears' and it seems like they just have bad blood circulation in their ears. I don't think it's harmful, but you might want to talk to his pediatrician just in case.

I've "heard" that the color of their ears and forehead will be their actual skin complexion.

you might want to ask the dr. about it it might not be a good thing if your baby is not getting blood going to the ears good luck

well you could always ask your doctor. usually that's first instinct. but maybe it's the lighting. hopefully it'll fade as time goes on or else you son will be made fun of. sorry!

both of my daughter were the same way, and they ended up being the color that their ears were.
