In East Africa

It takes place within Kenya and Tanzania and is the greatest wildlife show on earth. Between the open plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, thousands of wildebeest and zebras migrate to greener pastures as the seasons change and the circle of life and death continues. Predators follow the Wildebeest Migration closely, waiting for an opportunity to strike weak prey as they make their way into different territories.

The precise timing of the Wildebeest Migration changes annually and it is a very unpredictable and spontaneous natural event. The calving season takes place in the Serengeti between the months of January and mid-March before the Wildebeest Migration begins heading towards the western Serengeti in June.

The wildebeest and zebra migration is in East Africa, in both Kenya' Masai Mara Plains and Serengeti Grasslands in Tanzania.
It's very hard to predict the migration. It's all determined by rainfall pattern and how green is the grass. If the rainfall goes well this should be the pattern.

Janurary to March: The migration is located in the South Serengeti. In Mid February to March, is the Calving Season.

August to September: The herds enter Masai Mara Plains. Crossing the river is in
mid August.

The migration does not follow this every year, if the rain is poor they might turn back and patterns will change. If the rain is no normal this should be going to plan. The gnus and zebras DO NOT MOVE IN ONE HERD. Their are several herds that still number in several thousand but leave earlier than others. Others will migrate till June in the western Serengeti and become resident. Lastly their is a main herd of the migration which out of all of them numbers in a million.

It is the movement of my relatives to my house to eat everything I have during any holiday that serves as an excuse.
