well you need your clothes lol and shampoo and toiletries and laundry stuff and a TV and small refridge and a fan, a DVD player and a computer and lots of money! I have 2 kids in college(both girls) and they bring everything they own with them like a million pair of shoes..the dorm rooms are small so try to pack light

I would also say some basic food stuff - like a hot plate or a electric kettle or microwave etc. And bring food that won't spoil. My first week in a dorm, the univ. screwed up my financial aid and I couldn't gain access to the cafeteria. With no cash or car, I was stuck with the popcorn in my room. It saved my butt, but I would've loved variety!

Not that your school will do this, but, being away from home takes adjusting; havingyor own food and stuff around you will help.
