I think it would be too dangerous. She will pull at it and could possible rub her neck raw doing that. You can look for a birthstone pin that you could pin to her jacket or diaper bag, or you can buy her a precious moments figurine to put somewhere. She can choke on a ring. She could suck on and possibaly choke on a braclet.
Why dont you wear a necklace with her birthstone or you wear a ring with her birthstone to show your love for her?

It's not safe to have anything tied around a baby's neck. Even during the day as newborn sleep most of the time. New moms are tired and can easily forget to remove the necklace every time the baby takes a nap.
An ankle bracelet would be the safest option. But when your newborn is old enough to pull her foot to her mouth, you should remove the ankle bracelet as well. Babies are stronger than we often imagine. When she gets a grip on her bracelet and pulls, she will break it. Babies put everything in their mouths, which means jewellery is a choking hazard.

You can get the necklace but wait until your baby is about 3 years old to let her wear it during daytime. Same for a bracelet or ring. They need to understand that they should not put certain things in their mouth. My sister gave my oldest girl a fun bracelet that we put away until she was older. My youngest daughter's godfather gave her a beautiful necklace that has been put away until she is older.

I do think it is too dangerous. Please don't risk anything choking your baby.
Instead of jewlery on a newborn why not put bows on her head? You can make your own bows and stick them on her head with a little blob of gel or buy headbands (just be sure they aren't too tight). They have lots of cute little girl clothes and booties at this age, too. Just remember that she could be wearing a plain white baby t-shirt and a diaper and she will still be beautiful because she is your baby.
Personally I think jewlery on newborns looks tacky. Why make them look more grown up? They only stay little for so long, so cherish it!

Wait until your child is older to ask to get her ears pierced. My daughter was 3 when she asked to get her ears pierced , so we let her. I think it is so stupid to see babies and children two and under wearing necklaces and brackets. Are people trying to kill their children , by letting them choke ? I know someone that let her baby that was just 3 months old wear a necklace while the baby was sleeping. I think its stupid !!!

I put necklaces on my baby all the time. She is used to them and doesn't do anything dangerous to harm herself but that is my jugdement and desicion because I am the one that watches her and know that its ok.
Try different headbands or little hair clippies too.
I think bracelets are dangerous because they can pull those off and put them in their mouth!
Use your own good judgement.

I think its a bit too soon. Maybe a birthstone bracelet would be better.

Grannies and Grampas boasting books - pocket sized image albums with p.c.. of their new grandson that they are able to tutor off to everybody. or you may make hand or foot prints and get them framed with a image. they are the form of issues my mum could like from my nephew. or you may make up a calender with photos of toddler for each month.

I don't think the necklace is a good idea, how about a bracelet.
Let her grow up....time for jewelery later....you don't want to hurt her
