4% of americans were gay, now its up to like 23% is it because of the media? i mean no ones born gay thats proven, but if its not the media what else would make someone want attention so bad that they have to pretend to be a homo?

Its PROVEN that no one is born gay? Where did you get this lie??? Current MEDICAL evidence says exactly the opposite! The reality is that approximately 3% of the population is gay. The estimate used to be 10%, but that was too big. BTW: the man who cracked the Nazi code during WWII was gay, and most likely saved more American and Allied lives than anybody in the entire war effort - think you could do what he did? Would you deny him his job because he was gay? If so, you are a fool.

We are who we are. It's just that we all take a different path to gert where we need to be. because of society,families, and church pressure, many of us stay in the closet and even marry, before coming to terms with our true selves.
I'm sure the media would love to accepte responsibility for 'turning' us gay.
Try talking to a gay person. Try opening up your mind to some facts for a change.

TV is finally getting with the program. TV used to be almost exclusively white. Anyone not knowing better could have said later why is it that now there are so many blacks on TV? There just CAN'T be that many around. If there were, how come we weren't seeing them before this? Sounds really stupid doesn't it? It's not any different with gays and lesbians. I'm happy that so many shows now have gay characters, though I'm unhappy about the stereotyping those characters still put forth. There are millions of families with gay members in them and it's about time TV reflected that truth. At least they aren't kowtowing to the Religious Wrong and portraying them as sinful creatures headed to hell - I guess that's a start.
I don't know where you're getting your percentages from, some .com site against gays I would imagine. It is NOT proven that gays are not born gay. In fact, the evidence is mounting toward the other conclusion. Where are you getting these "facts" that you are spouting?
It's sad that you think homosexuals "became" that way because of some need for attention. So many gays spent long years in closets because of people just like yourself. With all of the media attention to gay marriage and the national debate about it, now more gays feel free to be themselves and damn anyone else who doesn't like it. I couldn't agree more, it's time to stop letting bigots control their lives. I'm one straight person who is proud to do anything I can to help them do so.

Gee, what caused it before they were plastered all over the televisions and movies?
When I was growing up, I didn't even watch television or go to movies
I didn't want any attention. In fact, I hid the truth, quite successfully, until I was nearly 22. I didn't want to be gay so bad, I did everything I was told to NOT BE GAY until my wife
General acceptance in society has caused more people to be open about it. It may have also contributed to more people experimenting with bisexuality, but there are no more gay people percentage wise now than there were a thousand or three thousand years ago.
Why does there have to be a cause? Why is it so important for society to give reason and rhyme for the existence of homosexuality? Why isn't it enough that it is? The percentage per capita isn't important... the reason isn't important... nature vs. nurture isn't important, none of it matters.
No matter what your reasoning for objecting to homosexuality is, in the United States, it is not good enough to support gay people not being equal to straight people. The law and the government are required by our founding documents to view all of us equally.

who proved that? I can prove otherwise with my own family. My uncle and great uncle, both the second males born into their families, were gay. then, lo and behold, as my father 'feared' i- the second male- was playing boys a little too friendly like. I never met my uncle and great uncle until i was like 17. When I was 16 I had already come out of the closet to my parents. is that not evidence of genetics at work? seriously. there are gay animals. when i was 20 my neighbors- hetero to the core- had gay dogs. they put them to sleep. gay is not a choice. hatred is.

I don't think anyone's pretending to be a homo. I look at it as more people are exploring different sexual options. I know I'm not pretending, it's just more accepted and easy to be who you are now, and it's a beautiful thing. Whatever makes your panties wet is your business, and pity anyone who judges you for it.

If you gave them proof, they will say your a hater, If you give them scripture, they say your God is not their God, I don`t care if they marry, If they are old enough to marry, then they are old enough to make that choice, thats not my business, but when they want to adopt children, and raise them to believe this is acceptable, then I have a problem with that,I wouldn`t want anyone adopting a child, and raising them to believe that any sin or action like that is acceptable ,when it goes against the bible. The Bible that I read says, bring up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old, they will not depart from it. The bible teaches LOVE, but lust has nothing to do with the type of love god was talking about,he wasen`t telling us to do that which goes against nature, by lusting in our hearts for the same sex, what he was teaching was , If they are hungry, feed them, if they are homeless, give them a roof over their head, if they are sick, heal them, if they cry hold them, if they sin against you forgive them, for even christ forgave us, who were once sinners. they cannot say, being gay, is not a sin, If they live by the Bible, But if they lived by the Bible KJV, they would not be having same sex relations. I do not hate them, I feel sorry for them, they are blind.
