Relocating from Texas, leaving in two days.

I really depends on what you are into and what season you are here. Not to mention what month also.
Ann Arbor is cool, it has lots of shopping and is very tourist friendly.
Dearborn has the Henry Ford Village where you can see all kinds of really cool stuff like glass blowing jewelry making and they even have a IMax theatre there.
Or you can go to Traverse City which is situated on Lake Michigan. They have the National Cherry Festival the first two weeks of July and its huge with tons of people.
And then there is the Silver Lake Sand Dunes where you can ride dune buggies and 4 wheelers. It is also on Lake Michigan as well.

Places along the Lake Michigan shore are excellent. Towns and cities such as Saugatuck, Holland, and Grand Haven.

manistique Michigan is a very small quaint town that has some nice cabin type rental on quiet lakes if you like that sort of thing.

it is a nice place to disconnect.
