A Yahoo search for "wood stove operation" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 320 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.

We heat exclusively with wood & have some experience. We'd suggest that first you check the gaskets around all the stove openings and replace/have replaced those that look in any way worn. That will help you better control the fire level and burn time.

Be sure your chimney is cleaned regularly. Ashleys are known creosote-producers and you don't want a chimney fire.

There are more modern, safer and more efficient alternatives to the Ashley. We're using a Fireview by Woodstock Soapstone Stoves & it easily burns through the night, heats evenly & looks really nice.

Good luck.
