I'm assuming that you're talking about weight training? Push yourself in the gym more, if you're not training to failure then you're not training at your hardest. A friend helps a lot too, not just for motivation, but if you're unable to break that plane on your bench for example they can give JUST enough to help you get past it with a little assistance and you're still making gains because you're still lifting. Protein helps a lot too, the rule is 1 gram of protein for ever pound you weigh (that's a daily intake) but be careful because your body can't take more than 50 grams in one serving (in about an hour) and 50 grams is after a hard workout, you'll just poo the rest out if you get too much. I take about 45 - 50 grams after the workout and about 20 grams per meal, a chicken breast gives you about 20 grams...get used to eating a lot of chicken and tuna fish. Hope this helps.
