So it sounds like a crossword puzzle and the other two poster refer to a list of about 1200 named lakes.

But there are about 3,000,000 lakes over 20 acres in size in AK.

1200 makes no sense - tiny Wisconsin is "land of 10,000 lakes". I've flown over a lot of both states and Alaska has a lot square mile and an incredible density of lakes, especially on the North Slope.
