Rob your right, the WHA formed its own team in 1974 with Cheevers as the goalie, and Paul Henderson was on that team too as a member of the Toronto Toros if I remember. I think the Russians smoked them like 6 games to 1 and a tie.

Just returned from Brantford, Ontario (having watched the Pgh Penguins at their training camp, and catching games 6 & 7 on Canadien TV)...at a friend's house in Pgh. It was a great ending to a super series - The Russians sure surprised the NHL'ers, as many expected a sweep of the 8 games by the NHL players. Team Russia came to Canada with their limited equipment (sticks, for them, were at a premium), "ragged" uniforms, and an aura of mystery - how conditioned were they? Could they stand up to the physical play of the NHLers? What style of play would they demonstrate? After game 1, it was apparent that the Russians were indeed a worthy opponent.

there is rather 0% probability of a Paul presidency. Obama might desire to win with the help of 50 components. His foreign places places coverage is barely too arguable. each and every physique who thinks Ron Paul has the slightest probability of prevailing the presidency is a fool.

Watching it at home. Skipped school for Games 7-8 (or maybe it was 6-7 but anyway getting so frustrated only catching glimpses at school...I couldn't take it and skipped). Got detention but it was worth every minute.

My parents tell me, I was 2, that we were with Gerry Chevers and some other WHA hockey families. WHA players were not allowed to play in the tournament.
