It was probably back in the early 90's I saw infomercials about this stuff you bought that came in colors to match your vehicle that covered scratches. The guy would even set fire to the hood of the car and it didn't hurt the finish. He was out in a junk yard and did a bunch of cars there. Does anyone recall what the name of the stuff was and is it no longer available because it wasn't worth a crap?

It was called Color something. I spent 11 years in the automotive parts industry. This product was crap. Thats why you can no longer find it. It washed off after about 3 car washes.
There is a scratch cover paint made for almost all makes and models of cars. You can either go into the auto parts store and look up your year and make of car, or even better, go to the dealership, parts dept. and they will have the paint to match your paint code.
Good luck.

You can check on this site. If it's still out there, you will probably find it here. If I were you, I'd just get touch up paint from an auto parts store, or your dealership and do it that way, though. I tried the GS27. No go. Although, I don't think the GS27 Scratch Remover is the product you are referring to, most of the products that I've tried to use to remove scratches were a bust. I'm particular about my car, so I just use touch up paint and I'm done with it.

I know what you mean and the hardware store that carries paints or products to fix cars carries it. If you live in Canada go to Canadian Tire.

Don't remember the name. I tried it, and as usual it was garbage. Don't waste your time with it.

Something like GX-27, or something like that.
