I will be in SanFrancisco in a few weeks and want to take a special friend out for a romantic dinner. I have been to S.F. many times but want other opinions.

Since you've already been to SF many times, you'll have already seen the major sights.

The current top romantic restuarants are:

1) Town Hall
2) Foreign Cinema
3) Bouchon
4) Kokkari Estiatorio
5) Boulevard
6) Myth
7) Chaya Brasserie
8) Limon
9) Roy's - San Francisco
10) Aqua

I like the Globe, although I can't remember exactly where it is. It's hip but intimate, with a small dining floor and an excellent menu. It's also pretty chic- lots of famous people are 'spotted' there so you'll definitely be on the ball. That is, if it still exists. Also this sounds dumb but the Gordon Bierch in the city has a great view from the second floor, which would make up for the fact that it's Gordon Bierch. SF has romantic, trendy, wonderful restaurants around every corner so you really can't go wrong.

you got some good solutions from others. i might merely upload that Mario's Bohamian Cigar keep on the corner of Columbus and Union is an fantastically classic SF place to eat eggplant sandwiches or pizza and drink pink wine. it is likewise a great human beings-gazing place. you will discover greater than a number of little cafes in North sea coast (the Italian community) the place locals eat. merely walk alongside Columbus highway. additionally visit Le Tacqueria on project highway merely up from 24th (BART Station) for the perfect tacos and burritos in San Francisco and attempt pupusas at any Salvadorean eating place on project highway.

House of Prime Rib--It's on Van Ness. It's a really neat place with an interesting menu and the best prime rib I've ever had. It's very classy and a bit pricey, but well worth it.
