I have lost my booklet and am having to reinstall the sims 2 due to it keeps crashing!!!

I do, but I registered it, which means that even if I gave it to you, it wouldn't work for you. Maxis keeps tract of all their registration keys because of hackers and keygens. Did you register yours? If you did you can go to thesims.com and retrieve the code. You can aslo download something called Sims File Cop that will search the application to see if there are any corrupted files that cause you to crash.
ALSO - when you play - if you have DSL or broadband, turn it off first and turn off your anti-virus, this will keep it from crashing.
