I LOVE this film. I have seen it loads of times and find a new thing everytime. I would love to know people's opinions. What is it about? Who is the red jogger? What does Grandma Death represent? Why does the girl wear earmuffs? Do you think the family seem to be laughing at the end? What about Frank? Tell me everything!!

i heard somewhere that the red jogger is supposed to be like a government agent or something. i don't remember though.
my favorite thing is that little montage at the end where they show everyone after donnie dies, and they look like they almost remember what happened. like cunningham is freaking out, charita is at peace cause donnie told her that things are going to get better for her. coolest thing ever: when it pans across frank, he rubs his eye. wow.

Confusing movie. Everytime I watch it, I take something new away from it. I have seen it about 10x so far. There is probably so much to it.
I know it has alot about time travel in it. Goes really indepth with time travel theory, seeing in the 4th dimension kind of thing but I don't know a whole lot about that. But I am pretty sure there is alot symbolism dealing with this .
I remember the first time I seen it I was completely mesmorized. I had to watch it again or atleast parts of it right away. I don't rewatch to many movies. Donnie Darko and Momento have to be my two of my favorite movies for the same reason.
If you havn't seen Momento yet, get off your *** and watch it.

okay, this movie is really easy to understand.
Donnie sees into the future and makes the decision to save his mom, sister, girlfriend and Frank. Frank guides
Donnie through the events because if he doesn't the chain of event that follow will cause the engine to go through the portal . If Donnie failed it would be the end of the world.
Frank is Donnie's sister's boyfriend.
the family is crying, because their son died
Grandma Death wrote the novel that Donnie reads and he write a letter to her-saying that he has to die for everyone else to live. She will get the letter because of time travel.
the movie can also be about how if we see into the future would be change it, going against God's will.

I have watched the movie once or twice. As for individual characters in the movie I am not sure. The movie is about how one person's destiny affects other people if he chooses to stay alive instead of dying.

Ilike it cause Jakes in it and hes hot. But thats about it. I will watch it a lot.
