It's a little more complex than that.

why would I want to be Liberal most Liberals I have meet have wanted to impose there views and way of life down everyones throat.
I would rather be an individual being labeled liberal really doesn't make sense "Being open-minded and free from prejudice" if that was the case I wouldn't be able to have my own oppinions or thoughts because as soon as i said something that one person didn't agree with I wouldn't be liberal any more I would then become " the radical !!!" or some other stupid name.
If we loose the stupid labels and become individuals and think for ourselves and actually use some sense doing it we would be much better off.....

Being open-minded and free from prejudice is not the exclusive purview of either liberals or conservatives. It depends on the issues. For instance, people may feel liberal about helping the poorer in our society, but may want to exercise more conservative ideas in implementing that - can it be made more efficient and less money wasted? You may want a strong defense program, but conservatively how much do we want to spend? So, you see, it just goes on and on with hardly any agreements that lead to solutions.

Except that all the liberals I know are very closed minded and have an endless list of prejudices. They are serial Bush Bashers and it goes down hill from there. Their priorities are perverse with the trivial social issues on top and the important ones, like concern for the American worker, ignored. They have no democratic ideals. They don't care if other people have democracy. They are isolationists. They don't uphold honest elections and think that you should recount votes until people give up and let them win.
And their endless childish whining and moaning is annoying.

Most people will never be liberated because of the subtle external brainwashing has locked them into their thick mental stance. I can't get on with such people who cannot question some of their unreasonable stances. For instance, I used to be Catholic then resigned, and dabbled in a bit of Judaism. Liberal, Democrat, Socialist are all labels. They don't have real values and don't really mean anything.

Surprise! Not everyone wants to be liberal. Right wingers are taught to associate being left wing or liberal with wishy washy policies that damage the nation and hurt white men.
Right wingers account for about 30% of any population. Left wingers account for another 30% or so. Your politics are determined by your attitude. You are attracted to one philosophy or the other depending on how you feel.
Hierarchy-minded people go right wing, community minded people go left.
Of course, right wingers feel comfortable with being right wing because they always believe they'll be on top.
They feel uncomfortable with a level playing field because there is the risk they will not be at the top of the hierarchy as they see it.
The Nazis took that philosophy to the extreme and graded people. Right wingers do that in their minds.
Liberals don't see life as a rigid hierarchy, but as a social network of equals, and so don't feel the need to be on top. We just don't feel threatened by the differences between groups.

Liberal actually means wanting to solve all the world's problems with other people's money. Don't be quick to thinking only being open-minded is the way the world works, and to heck with everything else. You don't help anyone by solving their problems for them.

yeah right; let's just take all the money from the rich people (who earned it by working their tails off) and give it to the poor people. That's just like taking GPA points from the girl with the 4.0 and giving some to the guy who's failing and not trying who has a 2.0 so that they both have a 3.0. That's STUPID.

"liberal" is good, just many on the right wing have a problem with "Liberal", and have abused the word. Jesus was, without any question, a liberal.
And don't you have to be able to spell to be a Navy Seal? LOL
