All other things being equal, a nurse has a more open career path, they can go on to be a nurse practicioner, which can make good money and has almost the same job as a doctor. Or they can go to be a nurse anesthatist (sp?) they can make a lot of money. As much as a doctor. But not the same kind of liability.

Usually anything with -tech in the name is more "topped out" at their carrier path, so they have to switch ladders slightly to move upwards.

Plus nurses are ALWAYS in demand. and they can get signing bonuses. But nurses get burnt out easy because they get overworked.

-My 2 cents.

Please suited me if i'm incorrect, as i'm fantastically curious.
