iswitched memories on my computer because the other one was corrupted. now i need to install my cd rom but dont have the disk and dont know the model all i know is that is tdk and it has this numbers on the front 32/10/40b.but dont know if thats the model.is there a website to download the drivers for a tdk cd rom?

I don't think you need anything for XP, but for older systems like Windows 98, there are driver downloads. Firmware updates require flashing the unit and are for using newer kinds of media.

Changing memory (RAM) should not effect installed devices, did you swap hard drives?

Most CD-Roms can use a standard driver provided by Windows and run without any problems. However if you still cant get your drive to run properly pull hte drive out of the case and there should be a sticker with the model number on it. Find the number and then go here.

click on accessories, system tool, system info, click on components cd rom clickon it look down list for all info about cd rom
