If skin color can have anything to do with racism, then what about dumb blonde jokes? After all it is picking them out of the crowd and insulting them like they were crap.

Absolutely YES.
Though technically blonde isn't a "race" it's a hair color, the Nordics are considered the blonde races. We've all heard the 'dumb swede' jokes as well as dumb blonde jokes.
Why isn't equal time given to other hair types?
How about these?
Bawdy Bald jokes
Nappy knock-knocks
Redhead riddles
cornrow comics
Ok, I am reaching here, but you get my drift.
Not all blondes are dumb, and not all dumbs are blonde!
The Hollywood stereotype of 'dumb blonde' are all BLEACHED BRUNETTES!! Now that's what's dumb!

Racism is defined as:
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
It definitely fits the first definition to a degree, except that blonde's come in several different races. The characteristics and abilities generally attributed to Blonde's are of the negative verity. Jokes that are used to put down others aren’t necessarily funny. In many cases they only serve to hurt and damage the self-esteem of the other person. Not such a harmless sport and not necessarily a lot better than some alternatives. The small things injustices and prejudices that are tolerated are what lead to the larger ones.

Blond jokes are not necessarily racism. but they are a form of prejudice. They can even be a form of genderism, as there are mostly blond jokes directed at women. These jokes are very disempowering and play up stereotypes that some women might internalize affecting their self esteem.
ps is the second link below is an entry called "Pyramid of Hate--Micro to Macro" which discusses jokes and how they can affect the larger society. It isn't just a matter of race though. These "harmless jokes" do create very harmful ripple affects whether or not the consequences are openly visible..

2 words.....Jessica Simpson....j/ok I her like even with what all and sundry else says. I agree, that's purely a shaggy dog tale, merely like jokes approximately women human beings, men, brunettes, polish, jews, whites, italians, african individuals, etc.....The blonde jokes are on the lighter area of those. a guy or woman can tell a blonde shaggy dog tale and not be accused of incredibly hating blonds the place as that's take the incorrect way if the shaggy dog tale is a few distinctive team of folk...yet be conscious all jokes are stereotypical to a pair element or yet another.

Blonde chicks just dont understand. ha ha ha! want to hear a blonde joke? this isnt realy insulting to you as much as it is to old blind men.
An old, blind man walks into a bar, sits down, and says to the bartender "Wanna hear a blonde joke?" The guy sitting next to him then taps him on teh shoulder and says "Uhh, before you tell that joke, theres somthing you should know. The bartender is 260lbs and blonde, me and my buddy are 300 pounds each, and both blonde. theres a group of 6 bouncers over there and there all blonde, and on the other side of you is a man named Joe Mcgee, better known as 'The Crusher' Hes a famous wrestler, 400 lbs, and blonde. You still wanna tell that joke?" and the old blind guy justs says " Nah, not if i have to explain it 10 times."

No, it's sort of a substitute for it. You shouldn't get too worked up about it. People will always be doing something like that, and the blonde jokes are fairly harmless - a lot better than some alternatives.

I don't think so..
They are not meant to be insulting or hurtful....
Why are you so sensitive about this ?
If you are a natural blond and you are dumb then I
suppose you may have a right to be sensitive....
Otherwise....Calm down....Take your meds..
Get some rest...

It's not racism, it's just a stereotype. Perhaps a form of sexism, but not racism.
