Mederma is supposed to be good for scar removal. It sells for about $35 for a tube of 50 grams, you can find it a little cheaper on ebay. My plastic surgeon said that a generic scar gel works just as well though and costs about half the price. He said definitely use GEL not cream, vitamin E or cocoa butter which many people recommend.
The age of the scars will also affect your results.

I have loads of scars and i tried so many treatments including bio oil and meladerm which did not seem to do much. Then i found Fade out original which really was amazing and i think its sold in boots! I get mine from body care for around £6. It will have faded out in 4 weeks and you wont get an greasy look as with bio oil and its cheaper than meladerm.

this may sound wierd but it works... been doing it for years... bacon grease... after you fry some bacon save the grease ... put it a glass jar then when in cools off apply it to the area where you have scars... I promise it will go away... my grandmother use to do this to me when i was a kid... my legs used to be all scared up...now I do it to my kids... try it... it takes up to 1-2 weeks to see a difference, depending on the length & thickness of the scar....

This is a good question. I think there are some scar serums at drug stores you could buy. They are expensive and take a long time to work. Other than that, I don't know.

Mederma will fade but not erase scars. Find it at any drug store.
