Usually yes...but in situations such as abortion and all, some things you dont have to try to know they are bad or are not for you...like drugs, and other things alike.

if you need to taste it to see if its bad, then yes. but to know that your killing what will soon become a life and a child, then you dont have to kill a living thing to know that its bad.
this is ignorance. you dont have to run over someone on the sidewalk with your car to know that its bad. do you really have to rob a bank to get the clue that its a bad thing to do?
