If people choose not to use free condoms, it's their own fault if they get pregnant, right?

It sounds like many of the abortions happen because people are too lazy to use protection or because condoms don't feel good enough.

I think that's a great idea! I'm a Liberal Democrat but I'm personally against abortion other than to save the life of the mother. But I think if we could provide more education and better access to birth control it would help tremendously. I don't think we can honestly believe that abstinence is the way, I think that's just putting our head in the sand.

No. There are schools that already give out free condoms and the kids that they are being given to still end up having abortions. Besides, just because condoms might be free, doesn't mean that they will be used.

Condoms are free at the health dept. I used to work there and we would give bags and bags full out every day. Then see the same people come in for preganancy tests a month later.
You can make them available, but you can't make people use them.

I don't think it is a matter of cost, but mentality. If they were distributed for free, together with info, in the streets and in schools to every teenager - young person, that would be a good policy so that everyone would have condoms, and a good awareness raising move.

you can get condoms for free, from the health dept. see the thing is alot of people dont like to or just wont use them, i myself, i dont like to use them because they inhebit the feeling of good sex. people need to understand that abortion is killing and it should be treated just the same as any other murder, and the death penalty imposed upon the doctor and the dumb ***** that has it done. except in incestual malestation, or if an unhealthy pregnancy is endangering the mother and child.

Here in CA you can get free condoms no questions asked at planned parenthood and other places like that. My answer is no becasue I have heard one too many times that they don't like wearing raincoats because it doesn't feel as good.

Condoms are free, go to any public health department, planned parenthood or hospital and they will give you as many as you want, its the million dollar question of "Will a person have enough self esteem and moral values of oneself to use them?"

depends, people still may not use the, or use them properly.
i think overall, yes, there would be less abortions, but probably not substantially.
most teenagers can get free condoms if they go to a health clinic or ask their nuse at school and such.

Condoms are free from health clinics in UK but we still have high rate of unwanted pregnancies
